For nearly six decades, Stump’s Upholstery & Design has been known for quality work and timeless design. From its home on West Main Street in Leola Pennsylvania, this family-run shop has been serving the community since 1965, building lasting relationships through attention to detail and a commitment to honoring the craft.
The story began when Robert and Connie Kunkle purchased the business from Earl Stump, choosing to carry on the Stump’s name as a way to honor its history while shaping its future.
Family has always been at the heart of the shop. Robert and Connie raised their children in the business, passing down the skills and work ethic that would carry it forward.
Today, the second generation leads the company, with Robin serving as President and Project Manager, Kevin as Vice President and Office Manager, and Robert overseeing the Auto & Boat department. The third generation is now part of that story as well, alongside a talented team of craftspeople, Nik as the primary upholsterer and Olivia as Director of Business Operations.
Life in the shop is anything but routine. From restoring cherished heirlooms to updating modern pieces, the team takes on a wide range of projects across residential, commercial, automotive, and marine work.
No matter the piece, each project starts with understanding how it will be used and what the client envisions. From there, the team helps guide material selections—balancing beauty, durability, and function to ensure the final result feels just right.
